Create, read, modify, copy, and delete files on ExtFS volumes. The main features of Paragon Linux File Systems for Windows are: Linux File Systems for Windows by Paragon Software offers high-speed access to Linux file systems and supports Secure Boot protocol - there’s no need to turn off the driver when working with Linux volumes. ![]() ![]() Now you can easily access disks and partitions formatted under the most common Linux file systems directly from your Windows PC. I also ran "Photorec", which took a few hours scanning, but also did not recover anything.Paragon Software, a recognized file systems and storage management expert, releases Linux File Systems for Windows. ("Önjuiste functie" in Dutch which translates to Incorrect Function). By the looks of it, the Seagate not only cooked its processor (as it supposedly does with many, many Seagate Centrals), but also managed to screw up the data on the drive just enough to make it a real challenge to retrieve it.ĮDIT: I ran "Recuva" which has 'advanced EXT4 support' or something, but it said something about "Incorrect function" and it stopped within a second. ![]() Sudo mount -o ro,noload /dev/dm-0 /media/ubuntu/Dataīeware I am totally new to Ubuntu and don't have a clue whether this message actually relates to said harddisk, but given it mentions EXT4, I am afraid it does. I will read up on this. When I used my HP server with a Ubuntu boot USB-stick and only the EXT4 Seagate drive attached, I tried to access "DATA" and got the message: I did not try any disk-saving software in conjunction with the Paragon software (which mounts the drive as a regular Windows drive, whereas Diskinternals Linux Readers works from within its own program-window). This was with one of the two SATA-USB converters that more or less worked with the disk before. Update: I tried Diskinternals Linux Reader (another EXT4 reader under windows) and it claimed there were no salvageable files. I have read someone having the exact same issues responding to a site on how to do this, but he never got an answer from the writer of the page, and when trying to visit the page today, I jusr get naked women, so not much use in posting the link. Next option would be to put the drive in a desktop PC with the Paragon software or revert to a Live CD with linux, but I might have the same issues then. When I use an Intenso 3TB housing (which I know won't have any >2TB issues) with the 4TB drive, it isn't recognised by the Paragon software. Could this be some >2TB issue? They *could* be so old that this is an issue. Problem now if that my two SATA-USB converters show a nice full partition, but when opening it (in the windows file system), there are no files. I installed the Paragon file system for windows yesterday so I could read out the drive without having to revert to Linux boot CD's (as adviced by multiple webpages on the subject) My Seagate Central died some time ago and I am trying to salvage the data before puttting the 4TB drive to use in a raid server, probably on FREENAS.
